Privacy Policy

Last updated May 13, 2026

Introduction

LogKit ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of LogKit (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

LogKit is a local-first application. Everything you log and track stays exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

We may collect the following types of information:

Data you provide during onboarding

  • Your name, age, occupation, and intended usage of the App, used to personalize your initial experience

Analytics data

  • Anonymized structural signals such as the types and categories of collections you create, feature interactions, and session frequency. The actual content of your logs — what you record, your values, your history — is never collected or accessible to us

Purchase information

  • If you purchase LogKit Pro, Apple processes your payment. We receive only confirmation of your purchase status and do not have access to your payment details.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above solely to provide and improve the App's functionality. Specifically:

  • Analytics data is used strictly to understand how features are used and improve the App over time. This is limited to structural signals only — never the content of what you log
  • Your log data including your HealthKit and Screen Time data is used only to populate collections you have configured and never leaves your device
  • Purchase status is used to unlock Pro features

Third-Party Integrations

LogKit integrates with the following Apple frameworks and services, all of which require your explicit permission:

HealthKit

  • LogKit can read and write health and fitness data such as steps, sleep, and workouts to populate collections you configure. This data never leaves your device and is never used for advertising, analytics, or shared with any third party. We do not store HealthKit data on external servers.

Screen Time

  • LogKit can read Screen Time usage data solely to display metrics within the App. This data never leaves your device and is not included in analytics or shared with any third party.

Apple App Store / StoreKit

  • Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We receive only confirmation of your purchase status. For questions about billing or refunds, Apple's standard App Store policies apply.

PostHog

  • We use PostHog to collect anonymized, structural usage data such as collection types created and feature interactions. No private log data, onboarding information, or personally identifiable information is ever sent to this service.

Data Storage & Security

All data you create in LogKit — your collections, log entries, tracking history, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.

iCloud Backup

  • If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your LogKit data may be included in your iCloud backup as part of your standard device backup. This is controlled entirely by you through your iOS settings and is subject to Apple's iCloud Privacy Policy.

Data Export

  • LogKit Pro includes the ability to export your data. Exported files are generated on your device and saved to a location of your choosing. Once exported, the security of that file is your responsibility. We do not receive or have access to exported data.

Security

  • Since all data is stored locally, security of your LogKit data is tied to the security of your device. We recommend keeping your device protected with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.

Data Retention & Deletion

Since LogKit does not collect or store your personal data on external servers, there is no data for us to retain or delete on your behalf.

Your data

  • All log entries, collections, and preferences exist solely on your device and in your iCloud backup if enabled. You can delete your data at any time by clearing it within the App or deleting the App entirely from your device.

Analytics data

  • Anonymized analytics data collected through PostHog is retained in accordance with their data retention policies. As this data is anonymized and not linked to your identity, it cannot be individually retrieved or deleted.

Purchase records

  • Records of your purchase status are maintained by Apple in accordance with their terms and are not held by us.

Your Rights

Since LogKit does not collect or store your personal data on external servers, most traditional data rights such as access, correction, or portability do not apply in the conventional sense — your data is already entirely in your control on your device.

However you have the right to:

  • Delete your data at any time by clearing it within the App or deleting the App from your device
  • Opt out of HealthKit and Screen Time access at any time through your iOS Settings
  • Request information about what anonymized analytics data PostHog holds by contacting us as described in the Contact section below

Children's Privacy

LogKit is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will notify you within the App. Your continued use of LogKit after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
